Jess:I live in a/the small village. It's near a/the sea. It's a/the really boring place.

 

Dave: Hi, Jess. What's the name of a/the village?

 

Jess: Thurlbury. It's in Scotland. Where do you live, Dave?

 

Dave: Ashford.

 

Jess: Is that a/the town or a/the village.

 

Dave: It's a/the small town in a/the south of England. it's OK here. There's a/the sports centre and a/the cinema, but a/the cinema's only got one screen.

 

Jess: Cinema! We haven't even got a/the cafe.

Jess:I live in a small village. (первое упоминание) It's near the sea. (море наверняка не какое-то, а определенное) It's a  really boring place.

Dave: Hi, Jess. What's the name of the village? (о конкретной деревне разговор)

Jess: Thurlbury. It's in Scotland. Where do you live, Dave?

Dave: Ashford.

Jess: Is that a  town or a village.(просто спрашивает,без конкретики)

Dave: It's a small town (обычный, каких тысячи) in the south (части света без артикля не употребляются) of England. it's OK here. There's a sports centre and a  cinema (с оборотом thete is практически всегода артикль неопределенный) , but the cinema's (именно в этом кинотеатре один экран) only got one screen.

Jess: Cinema! We haven't even got a cafe.(никакого нет кафе)
