It is a class of computer programs, which enable the proper start and running of all computer systems (as well as the application software and networks). Basically it's a platform for other software 5. Operating system and utility software 6. The main function is to organize the smooth operation of the computer by joining all its parts altogether and coordinating them. E.g. Microsoft Windows, Linux, Android, etc. 7. It is used for analyzing, configuring, optimizing and maintaining a computer through supporting the infrastructure of the latter. E.g. virus protection, database back up, compressing the data, etc.
