MOM, a middle aged woman, is alone in the room, drinking her cup of coffee. The sound of laughter from outside can be heard.
MOM
What the hell is going on out there?
EXT. FRONT YARD - CONTINUOUS
DAD, a middle aged man, is running around the yard in a kiddie pool full of mashed potatoes with a pair of goggles on. He is laughing hysterically.
DAD
Ahh! This is great!
EXT. FRONT PORCH - CONTINUOUS
The two KIDS, a boy and a girl, ages 8-10, are watching their dad in the pool, laughing and pointing.
KIDS
Ha ha! That looks so funny!
EXT. FRONT YARD - CONTINUOUS
Mom is at the front porch, shaking her head and sighing.
MOM
(sighs)
Kids these days...
DAD
(throwing mashed potatoes at the kids)
Come on! Join me!
The kids jump in the pool with their dad. They start throwing mashed potatoes at each other, laughing hysterically.
MOM
(smiling)
Ah, the joys of parenting...
