Я подумала, что television - телепередача, значит was. Хотя тоже сомневалась.

я про ПЕРВОЕ предложение.... bicycle parts, lenses and other things.. was?
Так подлежащее - television, а не televisions
так Вы переделали!
Так понятнее, хотя первый вариант тоже возможен.
